Monica Irina Garcia is an art and cultural strategist whose work sits at the intersection of community engagement, cultural diplomacy, and cultural policy within the creative industries. Of Moldovan and Cape Verdean heritage, with roots extending to Ukraine and Angola, her practice is shaped by a lifetime of moving between languages, histories, and cultures.
With nearly a decade at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Monica has led work in equity programs, audience development, culturally specific programming, multilingual representation, and cross-cultural partnerships. Her international practice includes collaborations and programs with cultural institutions and creative communities in Moldova and Ukraine.
Her work explores how cultural institutions can evolve with greater care, relevance, and imagination in a changing world.
